My birthday dinner.
DINNER -- Paella dish and Blueberry Pie for dessert @ Ma Maison, Millennia Walk
My lunch - Korean Seafood Hot Pot Rice
What else did I do to make this day special?
We celebrated my birthday the night before by having a BBQ again at my in-laws' private apartment. It was a last minute call but my friends turned up for the party, with extra food and gifts too. That made my day. Their kids were the happiest. Eugene's 11 year old son, Ezekiel, did all the BBQ-ing for the adults, while Reeve, a 12-year-old boy distributed the birthday cake. They would make good adults soon. :D
On my birthday which falls on Sunday today, we headed out to watch Lion King musical at MBS in the Sands Theatre after church. I was pinned to the chair with all that theatrics, songs and designs. It was a fantastic show. I was glad we got to watch it in Singapore. I am always a fan for Disney animation, esp Lion King which is one of my favorite, but seeing it brought alive with a different dimension was exhilarating!
A fulfilling day! And I have about 140 friends who wished me Happy Birthday!! :D
A birthday gift I have received from Joy, a friend I got to know when I was studied in Savannah, Georgia. It was an art stool, made of leather and wood, very good quality but not too comfortable for me since I got a big butt. The sticks are poking on my hip and gluts too much. It is still around but I haven't used it a lot. Sorry. It was a really thoughtful gift because I was actually looking around for a stool that I could use when I sketch outdoors.
I believe this was my breakfast.

[The images in this post made in 2011 on my birthday were lost when I deactivate my 'Pro' account for Flickr. I found the sketches in a sketchbook and rescanned them, and reposted them on Blogger, for the purpose of reliving some of the memories I had then. Kinda precious because I was just rediscovering sketching as journaling my life and experience and I wanted to remember those moments when I was happy doing it.

So many things have changed since then. It has been more than 10 years since this little celebration we had as husband and wife. We kinda just came back from the States not long ago, or around late 2009. We were still discovering Singapore and enjoying the company of new found friends, and local food too. That's when I started to put on weight and also began to freelance as an illustrator and part time teaching in different school as an art instructor.]
