Painting is really fun. This is actually my first in painting a self portrait with acrylic paints. I painted the sketch straight onto the canvas without any prior pencil sketches. However I have my photo up on the PC monitor just for reference. I did several roughs before I nailed down what I liked in terms of proportions and scale. Even so, the finished portrait is not centered. I was using Liquitex Basics Red Oxide, Cadium Yellow, Raw Umber and White for the entire work. Overall I enjoyed the entire process better than using a Wacom tablet with Photoshop.
