Getting over....

The remaining days of Jan 2009 I encountered a brief period of dryness in terms of motivation and creativity. I so desired to do a lot more but it seemed that my energy was draining away. Fatique? Or did too much. I took a "rest" by looking at what other artists are doing, their sketches and works. I got more depressed to a point I thought to myself, "Is art my thing?" Drawing and sketching are not bringing me anywhere. I'm still not in the companies that I wanted so badly to be in. Maybe they are not for you... there was always that little voice of consolation but am I making up excuses for not working harder?

Anyway, last Sunday, Kat and myself happened to be at Santa Monica, LA. We stumbled on this street that was teeming with life with shoppers and tourists. Sculptures of dinosaurs lined the street too. It was a pretty sight. We walked a couple of blocks before we reached the cliff overlooking the beach and the pier. Wow what a magnificent sight. Why didn't we come here before? I took the opportunity to do some sketches while we chatted and looked at passers-by. Time flew, the sun set and we headed to a restaurant for some Japanese cutlets!! A great day!!
